How is the Trust Score calculated?
The Trust Score blends two sources: ratings from the DealerTrust community and the business’s public Google rating. Each is weighted by its number of reviews, so a score backed by hundreds of reviews counts more than one backed by three.
Are reviews checked before they go live?
Yes. Every review written on DealerTrust is checked by a moderator against our guidelines before it’s published. We don’t remove reviews just because they’re negative.
Can businesses pay to remove bad reviews?
No. Businesses can claim their profile, update their information and publicly reply to reviews, but they can’t buy or remove reviews.
Where do the Google reviews come from?
Some pages show a selection of public reviews and the overall rating from Google Maps, labeled “via Google”. They belong to their authors and are shown for context.
