I really enjoy coming here because it feels like they have absolutely everything I could possibly need for a weekend project or home repair. The aisles are always packed with interesting finds, from tools to outdoor gear, and it is pretty easy to spend an hour just wandering around looking at all the variety. The staff is usually helpful when I have a question, even if it can take a minute to track someone down in such a large store. It is a super convenient place to get my shopping done in one go.

Write oneI had a very disappointing experience with the customer service over the phone at Fleet Farm. The person I spoke with was rude, short, and not helpful at all, which made the situation frustrating. However, I do want to give credit where it’s due — the gentleman working out in the yard was very friendly, professional, and extremely helpful. He turned part of the experience around with his positive attitude and willingness to help. Hopefully the phone customer service can improve to match the quality of the employees working in the yard.
Went in to pick up a few things and ended up staying longer than planned. The store had a good mix of home stuff, clothes, and basic everyday items, so it was easy to knock out a bunch of errands in one trip. Everything looked pretty organized and the aisles were clean. Prices seemed fair, especially with a few sale racks around. One employee helped me find what I needed and was nice about it. Checkout line moved a little slow, but nothing crazy. Overall a solid place to shop when you need a little bit of everything.
Fleet Farm has been my favorite store in Fargo since I was a kid, but recent experiences have been exceptionally terrible. I try to avoid going there, but today, I was in a rush, and Fleet Farm is a lot closer than Runnings, Tractor Supply, or Menards.
Unfortunately, I spent so much time trying to checkout, it would have been faster to just drive to Dilworth. Today, there were two people trying to manage the 4 self checkout lines. Not a single staffed checkout was open. All of the self checkouts were throwing errors for everyone. It would have been much faster if at least one till was open for in person checkout. There were probably a dozen folks in line for the self checkouts. Of course, once I finally got things rung up after 10-15 minutes, the receipt printer ran out of paper, and I had to wait for that to get replaced.
I also had a yard pickup for 3 bags of peat moss. When I went to the lumber yard, no one was there. I waited, rang the bell, waited more, went into the garden section to search out an employee, waited a little more, shouted for an employee but couldn't find anyone. I could see the peat moss adjacent to the garden center, so I walked through the gate, grabbed three bales, loaded up my car and left. There wasn't a single employee in sight or within shouting distance.
The lack of staffing is remarkable. The customer service isn't bad, it's just completely non existent. My review would be one star, but I still have fond, nostalgic memories of buying fishing gear, my first .22 rifle, etc as a young man. My advice- hire more people. If you can't hire people, maybe it's time to raise your wages. It's sad to see such an awesome store fail so badly.
My family enjoys going to going to Fleet Farm. We are always finding cool treasures that we can use at home. The staff are always friendly and talkative and go out of their way to help. The store is always clean. If you live in the general area I would suggest going. It’s not just farm items, they also have sports items, clothes, camping items and of course a toys section. We travel a distance approximately 2 hours out of our way and it’s always a great experience. We are never disappointed.
