Moon Short Farm is a wonderful family owned stop on the way to Talkeetna or Anchorage with beautiful mountain views and a peaceful atmosphere.
Enjoy a chilled beer at sunset, play games like darts, explore farm equipment that is over 100 years old, and discover treasures like a newspaper from 1963 inside the old farmhouse. 1964 Cadillac restored and in working conditions

Old farm equipments and artifacts like bike churning machine will bring nostalgic memories.
Chickens wander freely around the property and the family serves freshly prepared food, making it a relaxing sanctuary to spend a couple of hours.

Visit on a Thursday or Saturday during summer for fresh vegetables, local honey, and other locally made products.

Walked over here from the KOA for the Saturday night tasting. Beautiful landscape, incredibly kind owners. Beers were delicious and the root beer was amazing! Fun games on site for everyone to play. Highly recommend.

Came for the on-site tasting room and pickled peas, stayed for the deep history and warm family-owned vibes.

The Railcar Bar tasting room where you can enjoy drinks from all over Alaska is open 2-8 pm on Thursdays and Saturdays seasonally in the summer (their license lets them operate mid-May to mid-November but they open and close based on the weather, so check their Facebook or Instagram for updates). Their farmers market opens in July (also on Thursdays and Saturdays, from 2-6 pm) and goes until the frost shuts it down in the fall. Again, check their social media accounts for updates on what’s in season.

Cute little spot to just hang out and have a drink. It's an old rail car that they converted into a tap room. They do have food trucks from time to time so much sure to check their Facebook. They have some choices of beer I haven't seen anywhere else. The gentleman who is her pouring is chill and welcoming. One of my go tos for a relaxing pint with a good view.

Visited the farm stand at Moonstone Farm the other day to buy farm-fresh veggies! The kids gobbled up sugar snap peas and we enjoyed roasted beets and garlic later. They also have a remodeled railroad car tasting room with several local brews on tap including root beer. A large outdoor deck with umbrella covered tables makes for a gorgeous way to spend the afternoon. Hours for both the farm stand and tasting room are Thurs & Sat 2-6pm.
