I am incredibly disappointed with the lack of communication and professionalism from this Mr. Handyman location. In early August, a gentleman came out to evaluate my basement for repairs caused by a water issue pit meter break. The insurance company for American Water had already fully accepted responsibility for the damages; I just needed a line-by-line estimate to move forward. I was told the estimate would take about a week. After a week passed with no word, I called to follow up and was told the contractor was just busy. Finally, at the end of August—nearly three weeks later— After multiple calls made to them to the regards of the estimate, I received a call stating they likely and when I say likely, I mean not going to. I did as requested, which was give other estimates and they still never responded back to the text message, phone calls & emails which only holds it up even longer but they were afraid of liability regarding the water company's insurance involvement. While I completely respect a business's right to decline a job due to liability, they should have told me this within days of the initial evaluation. Instead, they dragged their feet, made excuses, and wasted three weeks of my time. Because they held up the process without being honest, my basement repairs have been delayed, and I am now forced to start over with a new contractor. Their communication and respect for a customer's time are completely unacceptable especially with the timeline of the weather becoming the fall. Extremely unprofessional in my opinion.
