I want to take a moment to sincerely thank the farmers, Jenny and Pat, as well as Rose, the store clerk, for such an exceptional experience every time I visit Rakowski Family Farm Market.
I absolutely love the meat here, especially the beef sirloin cuts, short ribs, and roast beef. The quality is truly outstanding, and the taste is amazing. The flavor is rich, juicy, and incredibly fresh. Unlike meat from larger stores (I used to get mine from Meijer or Costco), there is no strong or unpleasant bloody smell or taste, just a clean, sweet, almost cotton candy like natural flavor that is hard to describe if you have never had truly high quality beef. It is honestly the best meat I have ever had.
Rose shared that this quality comes from the love and care of the farmers. That is when she told me about Jenny and Pat, the owners and dedicated farmers who truly understand how to care for their animals. The cattle are grass fed, raised without unnecessary chemicals or hormones, and given the time needed to develop naturally. It takes patience and commitment, especially as local farmers compete with larger corporate markets, and they truly deserve recognition for their hard work.
Rose has been incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. She explained how Jenny and Pat care for their animals, from feeding to processing, with great attention and respect. The meat is always very fresh, and they bring only a limited number of meat to the store each week, reflecting their focus on quality over quantity. Jenny and Pat run a small operation with a clear commitment to high-quality meat.
As a regular customer, Rose always greets me with a warm smile and is patient in answering my questions. She has helped me understand different cuts of meat and how to choose, and cook them, including helpful tips about keeping the fat for flavor and setting aside any excess if desired. Her energy, kindness, and knowledge make every visit enjoyable. She is truly a wonderful ambassador for both the store and the farmers.
The prices are also very reasonable, especially considering the quality. I truly appreciate all the care and dedication Jenny and Pat put into their work. It makes a real difference and allows us to enjoy healthy, high quality food on our table. Farmers like them deserve real recognition, and I am so grateful to have access to what they provide.
As a final note, special thanks to Rose for sharing the stories and her endorsement of the farmers and their products. In addition to their excellent meat, they also offer other fresh items in the store, such as onions and avocados, and many more. I also love their jumbo eggs and ice cream. My child loves them, which is another reason I keep coming back. The eggs taste rich and natural; you can really tell how fresh they are.

First time coming to this shop.

Love supporting local farmers. Only complaint was ordering special meats. I ordered a duck for a holiday dinner, and was told it would be 8-9lb (no guarantee on size though). When I went to pick it up, it was only 6.2 lbs.

Mad respect for the lady who had to catch it, but the bird is small for a holiday family dinner for 5. Appreciate they had duck, and shame on me for gambling on the holidays, but a bigger bird as advertised would have been nice.
