Schneider Construction & Restoration

I recently worked with Larry Schneider and Schneider Construction & Restoration on a potential new construction project in the historic district of New Orleans. From our very first conversation, Larry demonstrated exceptional professionalism, deep knowledge of local regulations, and—most importantly—complete honesty.

What stood out most was his transparency. Even though proceeding with the project would have been financially beneficial for his company, Larry took the time during multiple meetings to thoroughly explain why the investment did not make sense under current conditions. He detailed the significant constraints imposed by the HDLC historic requirements and Special Flood Hazard Area elevation mandates, the high construction costs, insurance realities, and the realistic rental income the property could generate. His guidance helped us avoid a project that would not have delivered a sound return.

In an industry where some contractors might overlook these challenges to secure a job, Larry’s integrity and client-first approach are truly refreshing and rare. He provided clear, detailed information that empowered us to make the right decision for our family, even when that decision meant pausing the project.

We highly recommend Schneider Construction & Restoration to anyone looking for a trustworthy, knowledgeable, and ethical construction partner in the Greater New Orleans area. We look forward to working with Larry on future projects when the timing and numbers align.

Thank you, Larry!

We just completed the extensive renovation of our old Uptown home with Schneider. Our goal was to keep as much of the original detail as possible, while updating the floorplan, electrical, roof, kitchens, and baths. Schneider listened and gave us the house of our dreams – and sooner than planned!

Alejandra was the superstar project manager that coordinated the renovation and made it all happen. She communicated with us daily with updates, planned every detail, and came up with solutions to unexpected issues that come with a project of this magnitude. I could go on and on about how wonderful it was to work with such a professional; she made what could have been a stressful experience an enjoyable one.

But every single person who helped us finish this project was amazing. From Larry, Ellen, and Mallory helping us with our vision and pricing, to Kate helping with all of the finish picks, to every last worker – carpenters, tilers, wood floor restorers, plumbers, electricians, cabinet makers – who went above and beyond to bring this home back to its original glory (and then some). If I could give more than 5 stars, I would.

Schneider Construction did a fantastic job on our pool/pool house/garage build. They were thorough, careful, skillful, attentive, and on-time. They were absolutely professional every step of the way. The finished product is amazing- we love our new space and everyone who sees it raves about how beautiful it is. Larry and his amazing team (especially Mallory and Kristin!) have our highest endorsement. We will use them for any future construction project we have.

Working with Larry and the entire team at Schneider was a smooth and painless experience. With many years of experience, Larry & his team knew how to stay a step ahead, and I realized how important this was on a project like ours with so many moving parts. Grant was our project manager and we met weekly to discuss the status of our renovation, to do lists, and upcoming tasks. I loved the organization. In addition, the workmanship from the carpenters and all subs was impeccable… Absolutely nothing went unnoticed, attention to every detail was met. Our project turned out amazing and we are thrilled. I highly recommend Schneider Construction. Thanks for helping us make our dream project come true.
