It’s a great personal way to see animals. Unlike a zoo, you get to be up close with the exotic animals. The guide is also very helpful and gives you a lot of good information.

My husband and I who are both extremely afraid of snakes took our grandson who was five years old for an encounter. I have to say this was the best time we’ve ever had. It ended up being a one on one encounter and my grandson was able to hold over 12 different species of snakes while learning about each one. They also had several lizards which he wasn’t too keen about so we didn’t see too too many of those. Anyway, I highly encourage anyone that has an interest in snakes to make a visit for an encounter. There were a few snakes we couldn’t hold because they were so large and heavy, but we were able to sit on the floor with a couple of the larger ones and pet them while they slither across our lap. Great tour, great people and a fabulous time. We will never forget this experience. Thank you TXR Exotic Reptiles.

We went with a group of 30 year olds and we loved it!! The tour was very informative and interactive!! Shout out to Rachel for being a fantastic guide!! Gwen even worked with us to reschedule when we accidentally booked the wrong day. Highly recommend and will be back!

Lions, tigers and bears! Oh my! Okay...so there weren't any lions or tigers, but there were 2 bears and a menagerie of other animals.
Book one of their "look inside private tours" if you can. Might need to book a month or so in advance. You can also book a basic guided tour or a sloth encounter. The "look inside private tour" will take you into some of the enclosures. Bring your water and your camera. Who can resist a monkey with his blanket?

I feel like this place is a hidden gem. I liked that though because it wasn’t crowded and hectic. We hosted our daughters 10th birthday party and had an unforgettable time at TGR. Gwen was extremely helpful with tips for the guest, they decorated beautifully for the Capybara them. I liked that the tour was private too. You don’t get that anywhere else for the price. Rachel, our guide, was so patient and informative. She gave a great tour and we learned so much about all the animals. They have so many different animals and you can tell they are very well taken care of. They have personalities and act super healthy for their age. I was amazed. I want to go back just for my own pleasure because I need to pet more animals. With a party of 20 guests and some showing up late, you are kind of limited in time. It was an amazing experience.
