NEGLIGENT WORKERS !! Do NOT buy chicks from tractor supply. Yesterday, i went inside to get chicken food. Right as i walked in the door, i heard a baby chick squealing from the back of the store. Mind you, several employees were on the floor. Ignoring the baby chick crying for help. So i went back there & saw chicks and baby turkeys who were much larger than the baby chicks. The baby chick was getting chased by a baby turkey. This bin was clearly over stuffed with chicks. The baby chick might have had a prolapse, as there was blood coming from behind. It had clearly been getting chased for hours because there was a good amount of blood & the chick could barely walk, it kept falling over.
So i told the associate who was 10-15 feet away from the chicks. He said he had to call someone. I don't know why he couldn't have just opened the gate and grabbed the chick. I waited and no one came. A woman walked by so I quickly told her and she went to the desk and did something on the computer. Ignored the fact that the baby chick is dying. I walked over saw the first worker standing around. Several moments later the girl who was clearly aggitated came over & picked up the chick without hesitation. Mind you there's three bins of chicks, how did she know exactly which one to grab? Unless they knew about this issue all day and ignored it. My fiancé said, " oh so you knew which chick it was and didn't do anything about it " she snapped back "i have eyes i can see". So rude. However she didn't hesitate which bin and which chick. So they knew about this and ignored it.
I have chickens. I know it was a life or death situation when it comes to chicks. TS should not be selling chicks or they should hire competent people to take care of living creatures. I always used to shop here for my chickens, dog & garden needs. I WILL NOT step foot back in this store. Very disappointed & upsetting to watch the lack of empathy in these employees.
