Honestly disappointed in this place. In the past, my client found a decent exterior door here and I spoke with BMR folks on the phone to give them dimensions for building the door frame. Good experience overall.
Unfortunately, I arrived today to find a simple exterior man door and they only had 3 people working there. The counter guy pointed me towards the door section, but I had to wait 20 minutes to even speak to a door guy. When I finally got someone’s attention, he had this “I don’t really give a damn” attitude, half ignored everything I said, and stared at me like I’m an idiot. Really didn’t have the basic customer service skills I expected from a small business.
When I found the cheapest 36”x80” door for $69, he said it’ll cost another $170 to frame it. That’s at least $239 for the cheapest “B grade” door! The same pre-hung door at Lowe’s is $328 new in stock.
So all this driving to Sherwood and dealing with lackluster employees to save $89 on a banged up door, oh and I have to drive back to pick it up. That’s a far cry from the “50%-75% discounted doors” advertised on their website.
If the customer service was decent and I trusted them to build the frame properly, I’d be happy to support a small business with a minimal amount of savings. But poor skills and shady advertising doesn’t sit well with me.
I’d recommend you save time and purchase from the big box stores.

We have been sourcing building materials at BMR for more than 20 years and for 5 different houses. Their inventory of doors and lumber is huge, and we’ve special ordered through them as well when there was a specific door or hardware we needed. In all cases they’ve been efficient, communicative, and accurate with our purchases, both when we’ve sourced in-stock door slabs and had them hung for us, and when we’ve made special orders. The prices are fair, and it feels good to put existing materials to use whenever possible. Plus it’s fun to discover what new things they have in stock every time we go. It’s also incredibly organized so finding things is not difficult.

The team here does an amazing job. They are always busy so sometimes you may have to wait for help, but it is worth it. They handle custom work including jambs, door sizes, and cuts, and they can also provide brand new materials if needed. My house is from the 1930s with a lot of character and they were incredibly helpful in getting everything just right. They even have videos to guide you on taking perfect measurements. I gave them my details and the cuts came out flawless with the hinges lined up exactly. Clayton, Olivia and Andrew helped me and they are true assets to the team. Check this place first.
