Our experience with Forest Building Materials has been one of the most frustrating parts of our home build. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend them based on the customer service, communication, and lack of accountability we experienced.
Our window order was delivered incorrectly, including windows that weren't even for our house. To resolve their mistake, we were asked to compromise by purchasing replacement windows with the understanding that the incorrect windows would be picked up and refunded. After waiting months for this to happen, we eventually purchased two windows from Sam at Mill Creek because we had lost confidence in Forest's ability to resolve the issue. As customers, we had every right to do that.
After Forest discovered we had purchased those windows elsewhere, they refused to honor the promised refund. As a result, I still have windows sitting in my garage that don't belong anywhere in my home, and we were left paying for their mistake.
The installation experience was just as disappointing. We paid for the installation of a large sliding patio door, but it was not properly secured and literally moved back and forth in the Oklahoma wind. We called, and they returned to "fix" it. After the next round of storms, the top corner popped completely out. When another installer came to inspect it, he was dismissive and rude to our builder, acting as though the installation was acceptable when it clearly was not.
The lumber department was not any better. Materials that were supposed to be delivered were simply left off the order, forcing my husband and our builder to make additional trips to pick them up themselves.
Throughout this process, we repeatedly dealt with poor communication, broken promises, and a lack of ownership when problems arose. Building a home is stressful enough without having to constantly follow up on mistakes that should have been handled by the supplier.
I would STRONGLY encourage anyone building or remodeling a home to look elsewhere. Based on our experience, the customer service, installation quality, and leadership at Forest Building Materials fell far below what we expected! I hope this company takes a serious look at its leadership, customer service, and quality control because future customers deserve much better than what we received.

Write oneIv been using Forest for years. They recently changed the way walk in lumber orders are filled. You now have to wait for a forklift driver to go get your order instead going to picking it up your self. Now it takes 3x-4x longer to get lumber material and half the time I have to send them back because they picked poor material.
Woman working counter was very polite and located quickly siding for house I needed. Lumber yard workers both very nice and helped me load my purchase. I'll be returning for my next home project
Forest Lumber has decided to implement a new policy. So if you are in a hurry do not choose Forest Lumber. This policy requires you to wait at the front of the lumber yard while your order is pulled for you. First you have to get the attention of a guy on a forklift. Then you have to wait for this guy to go and pull your various items that our choices that you probably wouldn't have made as far as your lumber. I will not be coming back to Forest Lumber this is garbage. The big box stores are better than this.
Had a great experience buying lumber for an add-on project. Staff inside and out were super knowledgeable and friendly. Most of all, I haven't seen lumber this straight in decades! Great place, will be back!
