Tusk Builders

We loved working with Tusk and we love our new kitchen! Sara and Richard took our vision seriously and worked hard to make it happen within our budget. Where I had a strong perspective, they had the expertise to make it happen. When I didn't know what I wanted, they were quick to suggest ideas and solutions that matched the aesthetic and price I was looking for. Our kitchen is now sunlit and spacious, with beautiful custom woodwork, antique feel and contemporary function. The Tusk team was able to help us source some of the materials through a building supply outlet, and our counter is made out of a remnant slab from someone else's project. Sara even went antiquing with me to look at vintage knobs and cabinet hardware. We're so grateful for the process as well as the product. Elli kept everything running smoothly, with clear, hassle-free communication. The guys who did the work were friendly, respectful and easy to have in our home. Thank you so much!

We had such a phenomenal experience with the entire Tusk team, from our original call to the finished product they were awesome to work with—I cannot recommend them enough! Sara’s eye for design made sure the renovation fit into our 100+ year old home perfectly; Richard’s construction team were extremely professional, punctual, and highly-skilled; and Elli was a great communicator throughout the whole project, even while I was out of state for most of it! A+++

We worked with Rich and the team at Tusk on a recent remodel of our mudroom, powder room, entry, kitchen, and breakfast nook. We couldn’t be happier with the process and result.

We had selected Tusk to work with our designer and make that vision a reality. Their ability to create a process that kept us involved and informed when there were inevitable bumps in the road made a tremendous difference to us. Additionally, they were able to point out and work with our designer to create thoughtful changes that made the final product better.

Their expertise, communication, creativity, craftsmanship, finish work and follow up was exceptional

I can’t recommend them highly enough.

Most construction projects involve contractors who overpromise and underdeliver. I had never experienced the opposite—until working with Tusk Builders.

From start to finish, every detail was covered. Every step landed on time. The precision and execution of my vision were flawless. Decorative trim was laid out and measured down to the millimeter, and the level of care was matched by thoughtful suggestions offered to other trades involved, making this one of the most seamless building experiences I’ve ever had.

Tusk assisted with finishing an ADU in my backyard that serves as a sauna and fitness sanctuary. Intricate airflow, HVAC, and moisture considerations were thoughtfully addressed when selecting materials and finishes—details I wouldn’t have known to think about, but that mattered immensely to the long-term success of the space.

All of this was accomplished while staying on budget and absolutely nailing the timeline.

In a world where reviews often exist to highlight shortcomings, I’m genuinely hard-pressed to find anything that would keep me from giving Tusk a five-star review. If there were six stars, they’d get six. Rich and his team are simply the best choice for any job.

Tusk did a fine job of remodeling our small powder room based on specifications we developed with the help of a designer. We chose Tusk because they are based in our South Minneapolis neighborhood, because they were highly reviewed by previous customers, and because their quote was competitive. They completed the work on time, with no hidden costs, and we were delighted with the quality of their work. Although this was a small project, Richard was fully on top of every detail. They did a good job of keeping us informed on a daily basis, and if we brought something to Richard’s attention, he dealt with it quickly. Terrific work!
