Farmers Market in New Castle, Delaware this is unacceptable.
These Dominican mangoes have extensive black areas consistent with severe bruising or spoilage, yet they were being advertised as a "Friday Night Special" for 99¢ each.
Customers deserve fresh, wholesome produce not fruit that appears to be deteriorating.
Many families who shop here rely on USDA SNAP benefits, and every customer deserves access to safe, quality food, regardless of how they pay for their groceries.
The Delaware Department of Health and Social Services (DHSS), Division of Public Health, is responsible for enforcing Delaware's food safety regulations. Delaware's Food Code requires that food offered for sale be wholesome and free from spoilage.
Produce in this condition should be removed from the sales floor not offered for sale.
We can and should expect better. Food quality and food safety matter in every community.
I'm sharing this because I believe every family deserves access to fresh, wholesome food. I hope the Farmers Market in New Castle addresses this issue immediately and that the Delaware Division of Public Health reviews this matter to ensure Delaware's food safety standards are being upheld

THIS REVIEW IS NOT FOR THE FARMERS MARKET DIRECTLY BUT ONE OF THE VENDORS. I had the pleasure of stopping in on one of their venders on the side of Route 1 in Delaware. The gentleman named Darrell (Batman) and his family were selling BBQ and fresh produce. The watermelon was seeded and so damn good. What caught our eyes was the really awesome Batmobile (Michael Keatons) version and his clown faced ice cream truck that he and his boys had customized. It was a pleasure to speak with him, take photos and try his delicious food. If you're passing through definitely stop by.

This is a must visit if you are ever in the vicinity. Although it's open just 3 days of the week, it's a great place to maybe get your groceries, clothing and hygiene items as well as furniture, sports items and even some thrifting. They also have a wide variety of food on offer. There are also numerous smoothie shakes and coffee stands. And on some days they also have like a yard sales sort of thing outside the compound where you can. Hope to find some good deals on a lot of items. Great place q do you even just explore and see what unique items you can find. Definitely a must visit.

There is 2 produce store. I like the one near French road. But I lately found out the price is not necessary cheaper than Acme or Lidl or ALdi. Still one Saturday I got ripped nectarines $3 for 8 of them & they were so sweet & delicious, I had three before dinner. I must say the papaya are consistently sweet & juicy. Veggies are fresh. Just go check out and find your treasures. Oh. Pizza is good there, the Amish sour cream& cream cheesecake with Cherry topping are out of the world. I bought one for $27.50& cut into 16 pieces & freeze them. It's like $1.75 / piece. Can't bit that. I know I'm eating freshly homemade stuff. The missing one star is that this place is like a maze & you have to remember which door you get in & find where you had parked when you get out.
